I'll admit to being an aesthetic moron. My room, much like my home, is a bit sparsely adorned, which I'm going to attribute to my constant movement from room to room over the last few years. I have that "never-gonna-be-in-the-same-place-from-year-to-year-so-don't-put-down-roots" attitude, which I suppose I need to overcome. I do have the obligatory posters concerning grammatical nuances, literary personas, and inspirational one-liners, so it's not like I revel in bare walls, either. I like to think that my decorations come from within: that they are the thoughts, discussions, ah-hah moments, and light-bulb illuminations of my students.
Like many of you, I feel it's critical to get the students' work up on the walls. They need to see that there's a larger audience for their work than just me. And, I don't post stuff that demonstrates bad English form. If it's ridled with thai-pos, eye doant wanit seluhbrated.
You are FUNNY!
I too have had the "you're moving again" attitude. I even taught from a cart at Vaughn. I put on more miles than Lance Armstrong............well maybe not. But it sure felt like it! Thanks for the info and I look forward to hearing your presentation. I look forward to being "enlightened" about your topic.
